This is a new trio formed to play new compositions by Hilmar Jensson. This is the first time he has led a “conventional” guitar trio to perform his music. Hilmar and Jim Black have worked together for over 25 years in various bands, most notably Jim’s AlasNoAxis and Hilmar’s trio TYFT. This is however the first time they collaborate with bass player Ole Morten Vågan who is known for his work with Motif, Thomas Stronen, Trondheim Jazz Orchestra and many others.
Jim Black has toured the world for the past 30 years with artists such as Tim Berne, Dave Douglas, Ellery Eskelin and Uri Caine. He has his own piano trio as well as AlasNoAxis and co-leads Human Feel and Pachora.
Hilmar Jensson has toured extensively for the past 25 years wit his own trio TYFT and AlasNoAxis as well as with Arve Hensriksen & Skuli Sverrisson and many others.
