At last, The Real Thing are back in town! Since starting out in 1992, the band have played more than 1500 concerts of which some of the best have taken place in here in Stavanger. In addition, the group has sold more than 55,000 albums with deep-swinging, organ-based soul jazz inspired by such greats as Jimmy Smith, Jack McDuff, George Benson and Wes Montgomery.
Organist Palle Wagnberg, guitarist Staffan William-Olsson, saxophonist Dave Edge and drummer Hermund Nygård are all looking forward to firing up the tour bus, shunting 200 kilogrammes of Hammond organ, straightening their ties and getting down to some serious business with material old and new. Their latest album “Oh No, Not The Real Thing Again…” will be released on both vinyl and CD in January.
